    My first thought is that the distances would be quite limiting. I would think you would need a large ‘run-up’ distance compared to the distances involved in the measurement, but I don’t really have any familiarity with these types of measurements and the maximum effective distances. And you wouldn’t have very much data collection time, as 1s of data would require at least 319 meters (from the example), plus acceleration distances on both ends.

    If you could achieve really high accelerations and don’t need a long period of data collection, I suppose this could be done. And since it has been done, there’s got to be some way!
