The addition of the small negative charge would reduce the overall charge of the nucleus, and so would reduce the magnitude of the monopole moment eZ, which therefore reduces the negative contribution of the term that would be hard to write here and I don’t know the name of, but is proportional to the inverse of the radius of the electron cloud.
