    J = 2 means that they are parallel and pointing in the same direction, we take the sum of them.
    J = 1 means that they are perpendicular to each other, the S does not contribute to J as the vector is perpendicular.
    J = 0 means that they are parallel but pointing in opposite directions, this causes them to cancel each other out.
