    1) you can deduce that the nucleus had spin 1 and that the dominant contribution to the hyperfine splitting is the magnetic dipole interaction. the electric field gradient is equal to zero in this example because there is no splitting de to the electric quadrupole interaction

    2) at low temperature, everything will be in the lowest energy state thus will every nucleus point in the m = -1 direction; opposite to the z direction
