    (1) the lowest energy state corresponds to m=+1, indicating a nucleus with a spin orientation aligned in the positive z-direction. For m=0, the orientation lies in the z=0 plane, while for m=-1, the nuclear spin points in the negative z-direction.

    (2) In low-temperature conditions, the system primarily occupies low-energy states. Consequently, most nuclei will be in the m=+1 state, aligning their spins in the positive z-direction. This results in a polarized orientation of the ensemble like a upside down pear or funnel-like shape
