Hi there, my name is Diego Martínez and I’m taking this course as an exchange student from Colombia in Ghent University so I’m currently based in, well, Ghent. So far I haven’t been able to explore much of the city because of the extreme cold but from what I’ve been able to see so far everyone should visit this place because practically in every direction you look it is beautiful, the streets, the buildings, the park, you name it. Distances are often not too large and it is an extremely bike-friendly city.
I am currently doing my bachelors in Engineering Physics in Colombia but since it’s my fourth year I noticed it’s technically considered as a masters here. I am very passionate about everything related to clean energy production, renewable energies, etc.
What I expect from this course is to expand my knowledge of nuclear interactions, no particular reason other than the knowledge itself, since I’m not sure how it could directly connect to my interest in clean energies (perhaps nuclear energy… in some way?). Hence, at this moment there is no clear goal in my life to which this course can directly contribute but sure I’m there’ll be something in it for me as well!
