I became a little confused by the end of page 8. It states that the spectrum in figure 7 is the sum of all the orientations in the frozen sample, and that seems logical. But I’m not sure as to why the x and y is preferred in this example. My reasoning is that it has to do with the fact that there are more ligands in the xy-plane than in the z-direction, but I’m not sure that is the correct reason.
