If alpha >0 it is oriented along z-axis, since the distance between DB and the ring is mostly because of z axes
If alpha <0 it is oriented along xy plane since the distance between DB and the ring is mostly because of x or y axes
If alpha = 0 it has no preferred orientation since both cases have the same contribution
