The g-factor is used in nuclear physics as a way to express the magnetic moment of a nucleus. But g-factors are used for objects that are no nuclei too, and in some cases their value can be even computed from other properties of the system. In this video, you learn how to express the g-factor of a free electron and a free atom. The latter will be useful when discussing EPR for free atoms.
